Not-for-Profit Reporting Standard

ASU 2016-14, Presentation of Financial Statements of Not-For-Profit Entities, is intended to better enable not-for-profit organizations to present their “financial story” and has been hailed as one of the most significant changes affecting not-for-profits in more than 20 years. The standard is effective for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2017, which applies to organizations with 2018 calendar year-ends and those with 2019 fiscal year-ends.

Following are some tools to help you understand and implement the new standard.

Cohen & Company is well versed in the standard's requirements. Our not-for-profit team has created checklists to assist clients in understanding and preparing for these changes. For more information, contact a member of your service team or Marie Brilmyer.
