D.J. Merriman, CPA, MAcc

Clients appreciate D.J.’s consistent delivery of professional service and clear communication throughout engagements. He excels at challenging the status quo of doing things “the same as last year,” always searching for better and more efficient and effective ways to improve an engagement. D.J. also likes to keep teams fun and have great conversations to help him get to know colleagues and clients better. 

D.J. began his public accounting career in 2017 and provides financial statement audits, reviews and compilations for closely held and private equity owned businesses, as well as registered investment advisers. He has additional expertise in manufacturing, contracts, purchase accounting and employee benefit plans. D.J. takes an integrated approach in working with the Tax Department to help take the burden off of clients and avoid duplicative requests. 

• Actively involved in training, scheduling and team management for the firm’s Assurance Practice; has been involved with various firm initiatives, such as the Internal Communication Council and the Dynamic Audit Solution (DAS) MVP team, in cooperation with the AICPA

D.J. resides in Green, Ohio, with his wife and their two children. A huge sports fan, he loves playing basketball, baseball and golf as much as he enjoys rooting for the Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Cavaliers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio Bobcats. D.J. also enjoys spending time running and staying active, being with his kids, playing guitar and reading.
