Cohen & Company Participates in OSCPA’s 2014 FETCH!® Day– December 15, 2014

Cohen & Company participated in the Ohio Society of CPAs’ annual Financial Education Teaches Children Healthy Habits®, or FETCH!®, program on November 18, 2014. Through the program, CPAs and other business professionals teach fifth and sixth graders financial literacy basics such as budgeting, saving and spending via an interactive board game.

An annual supporter of this event, Cohen had five teams volunteer at local schools in the northeast Ohio community. Teams volunteered at Olmsted Falls Intermediate School (Cleveland), Poland McKinley Elementary (Youngstown) and Findley Elementary School (Akron).

Team members included: MaKaela Banks, David Cahill, Joseph Fogarty, Joseph Mikolay, Becky Simmons, AJ Volpe and Tabitha Zukoski (Cleveland); Tarik Awad, Jami Blake, Michael Pecchia, Laura Sefcik, John Stoops and Morgan Trimacco (Youngstown); Keith Corbin, Alicia Elfers, Rachel Miller, Zach Mueller and Rachel Roan (Akron).

Alicia Elfers, a staff accountant in the Akron office and team leader reflected on the day, “We had an amazing time working with the kids. Helping them learn how to manage money and save for their future was extremely rewarding.”
