Derek E. Solomon, Cohen & Company

Derek E. Solomon, CPA, MA Principal Derek is a Principal in the Accounting and Auditing Services Department where he services a diverse clientele, including those in the manufacturing, advertising, information systems and professional services industries. He also dedicates significant time to the firm's Litigation Services and Business Valuations Department where he works on damages analyses for corporations and individuals, business valuations and domestic relations matters, among others. Derek is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Economics America and Chairman of its program committee. He is also past President and on the Board of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Alumni Association. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Ohio Society of CPAs, and is co-editor of Legal Cents, a bi-monthly newsletter covering CPA litigation services for lawyers. After graduating from Allegheny College with a degree in Economics, Derek completed the accounting sequence at John Carroll University and received his Masters Degree in Economics at Cleveland State University. As a former collegiate soccer player, he helped organize the firm's co-ed soccer team. He enjoys outdoor activities and watching the Indians. Derek and his wife, Karen, reside in University Heights with their children, Alexa and Nico.
