As president of Cohen & Company’s Private Company Services Division, Rob leads the firm’s accounting, tax and consulting practices. He is responsible for the division’s profitability; growth, training and retention efforts; and strategic and tactical initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions and other geographic expansion efforts.

Rob also serves firm clients in various roles — from acting as a facilitator for strategic leadership meetings, to helping owners assess operational and tactical issues related to growth, employment and working capital. As an audit technical partner, Rob leads small- and large-scope attest engagements for privately held businesses. His clients range from pre-revenue to $800 million in annual revenue. Rob’s expertise includes a variety of accounting issues, such as business combinations, derivatives, stock-based compensation, internal processes and controls. He has deep experience in the intricacies of buy- and sell-side due diligence engagements for private equity firms, venture capital and private companies, as well as expertise in employee benefit audits.

Even with all of his firm and client responsibilities, Rob finds time to play his favorite sports: lacrosse, golf and hockey with clients, business associates, family and friends. Living up to his Canadian roots, Rob founded his own hockey camp at the age of 21 and continues to coach hockey to children in Northeast Ohio. Rob lives in Kirtland Hills, Ohio, with his wife and two children.
